Over View Of Benalmádena

As you can see from the map above Benalmádena although all the same town is split up into 3 different areas, here is a brief resumen of those areas.
Benalmádena Costa which as its name suggests is the part of Benalmádena that runs along the coast. On the right
hand side of the map is the Puerto Deportivo (The Marina) which is a very popular place during the day for shopping
and sight seeing and at night for the many bars and discos. All the buildings there have a traditional Moorish
design to them and the apartments on the marina and the villas in the area are highly exclusive.
Positioned in the middle of Benalmadena Costa at about 5 mins walk to the beach close to the park marked on the
map (Parque de la Paloma) is a very popular area called Bonanza square, around this area you will find a large
quantity of ex pats living and working alongside the large amount of holiday makers who come and go through the
apartment blocks around this area. There is also an abundance of bars, restaurants and shops dedicated to serving
the every need of the British holiday maker and the ex pats who live there.
Further Along the coast you can see an area Marked Torrequebrada. This area has been heavily populated with new
apartment blocks in the last few years due to the popularity of the excellent Golf course, if you want to be near
the golf and only 5 mins drive from the night life of Benalmádena this could be the place for you.
Arroyo de la Miel is the commercial part of Benalmádena where most of the shopping is done residents and holiday makers alike. You are still only 15 mins walk from the beach and in the centre of all the hustle and bustle near to the super markets, medical centre, Train station and the very popular Friday morning market.
Benalmádena pueblo As you can see from the map Benalmádena Pueblo is located about 10 mins drive from the coast,
the Marina and Approximatly 5 minutes from the Torrequebrada golf course.
It is the Origonal part of Benalmádena and is what is a typically white washed Andalucian village. The community
is a large mix of predominatly Spanish with a good mix of British people who have decided to retire or buy a
holiday home in this still very typical Village. The pace of life in and around the Village is a lot slower than
an the coast, there is an increasing amount of shops, bars and restaurants but is still not overly commercialized.
If you want to take it easy in a laid back Spanish manor this could be the place for you.
